Interview with Robin Niethammer, Former Chair, Southwest China, European Chamber; Director Business Insights & Analytics Established Products, Bayer AG

I have so many fond memories of the European Chamber (especially the Southwest Chapter) that it is difficult to highlight just one experience. Co-leading the first stand-alone regional position paper with such a dedicated team is certainly among the top memories: not only was it exciting to write and contribute to the paper, but disseminating its findings and practical recommendations vis-à-vis government counterparts and the media was also most rewarding.

I also very much cherish my time as chair of the Southwest Chapter and the opportunity to be the voice of our members. I enjoyed the regular interaction with the dedicated members of the European business and diplomatic community from whom I learned a lot. The collaboration was genuine and invigorating. In addition to the hard work, we also managed to have fun together – including on Europe Day, which happens to also be my birthday!

It was a privilege to work with/under the leadership of Jörg Wuttke, president of the European Chamber, and I am honoured to consider myself a member of the European Chamber family from Berlin.
